Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - [6.5/10]

Tarantino's style of movie doesn't translate well to the paper. His movies are all over the place, scenes and storylines intertwined but you're drawn in and engaged the whole time. You can sort of see the vision with the book but it falls flat a bit as it does not have the other things that keep you engaged in a Tarantino film. On the other hand (but not too much of a surprise) his imagery is phenomenal and his scenes in the book come to life in my head, he evokes feelings and images great, its just the storyline that is very disconnected. Also, at least 5 times he flexes his knowledge of 1900s actors and film, which is mad but I don't know a thing of what he's talking about. This would be really cool to read first then watch the movie, a lot of the time I did think 'damn, I wish I was watching the movie right now'.  Also, putting the end scene of the movie as an aside in the middle of the book was pretty lame, that was the best part of the movie and having it in the middle diminished the suspense of the scene,
